Stretch of I-29 closed for bridge replacement project


MOUND CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation has shut down a stretch of I-29. I-29 at Route 159 near Mound City will be closed for a bridge replacement project.

Both directions of traffic on I-29 closed Monday morning and it will remain closed through 5 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic will be directed up and over the ramps at Route 159.

Meanwhile, the Route 159 bridge over I-29 will remain closed through the end of May 2020. There will be intermittent lane closures on I-29 throughout the project. Drivers are urged to pay attention to all construction signs.
